Skinny Guy Campers was born from a spark of inspiration during a 2019 hunting trip in the wilds of New Zealand. Co-founders Jason Bontrager, a seasoned veteran of the RV industry, and Donavon Frederickson, a masterful diesel mechanic with a rich RV dealership heritage, combined their expertise and passion for adventure to create something extraordinary: an overland truck camper designed for any truck, garage, or trail. They started the company because they were tired of subpar RV-type camping equipment and wanted products “designed and built to last,”

SGC is a great fit for customers who want a small footprint but still want a rig that feels purpose-built for dirt roads, trailheads, and rougher campsites. Their lineup spans self-contained overland truck bed campers (with essentials like heat, light, water, and power), BaseCap™ canopy campers (SGC says it’s a cab-high canopy camper whose roof opens 180° into a canopy camper with 6' of sleeping space), and their trailer lines — including the Armor LT hardside light-duty trailers, which SGC describes as an overland take on conventional teardrop campers built “exceptionally well” at “conventional camper prices.”
