Fall is one of the most fun times of the year in Alberta. September and October are filled with exciting Oktoberfest events in Edmonton, Calgary and beyond. Fire up your RV and cruise throughout Alberta to these must-visit Oktoberfests this fall.
The Calgary Oktoberfest celebration is one of the best in the country, and it will be held on Sept. 25 and 26, this year. The festival celebrates the local Calgary community with local craft beers (as well as plenty from Germany), local eats, an authentic Oompah band, more live music and tons of other awesome activities that have turned the festival into one of Calgary’s favorite new traditions. The event will take place at the Upper Big Four Building Stampede Park.
The Edmonton Oktoberfest will take place just a week after the Calgary one, so you can attend both events on your Alberta vacation. Edmonton’s best craft brewers and favorite restaurants will be on site as well as live music and plenty of German fare. The festival will take place on Oct. 2 and 3, at the Edmonton Expo Centre at Northlands this year.
Olds College Oldstoberfest
Oldstoberfest is the first Bavarian rodeo and biergarten in the world. The event, which will take place on Sept. 18, will showcase Olds College’s Hospitality and Tourism Program while providing live music, tasty beers and delicious foods to the public. Oldstoberfest will also showcase the college’s brewery, National Meat Training Center and other features that make Olds College so special. Show support for the students at Olds College while enjoying live performances by Kira Isabelle, Dallas Smith and other unbeatable artists.
