Regardless of where you are on the road, you’re bound to find an Earth Day festival in a town nearby. Find a campground or a place to boondock for the night so you can enjoy the festival the next day. The closer you are to the festival, the better, as many of the festivals feature a beer garden.

Before you head out, especially if this is your first trip of the season, be sure to have Woody’s RV World check out your RV – or stop by to walk through our many floor plans if you don’t have one but think going to an Earth Day festival where ever you stop sounds like fun.

Most Earth Day festivals will feature live music by local musicians. If you have a favorite from a town you’ve been to before, you may want to head in that direction. And, if you make it on time, fine – if not, there’s another Earth Day festival near you.

Earth Day festivals also have a Green/Farmers Market where you can buy locally made products and locally grown produce. If you want to make a special dinner with fresh vegetables, be sure you find a festival near you.

The festivals will also have workshops on being green and recycling. Vendors will be in attendance, too.

Easter Desserts

4-3-2015-HolidayDesserts

If you are spending Easter weekend in your RV, you’ll still want to make Easter dinner and have some special Easter desserts to make the day special. Although you may not have as much space as in your kitchen, you still have all of the amenities to make desserts, including an oven or convection oven.

Before you head out, stop by Woody’s RV World to pick up any accessories you may need to make cooking an Easter dinner and desserts easier – and to make cleanup easy so you can relax after dinner. Making cupcakes is great because the pans are small enough to fit in the oven. You can also make cakes with 9-inch-square pans.

Easter-Themed Cupcakes

Use your favorite recipe or box mix to make cupcakes. Make whipped frosting with ½ pint heavy cream and confectioner’s sugar by whipping the cream until it thickens. Add ½ teaspoon vanilla, then whip it until it forms stiff peaks. Fold in at least a half cup confectioner’s sugar and a packet of unflavored gelatin. The gelatin holds the whipped cream longer so you don’t have to refrigerate it. Divide the whipped cream into portions. Add food coloring to each portion to make several different colors.

After the cupcakes have completely cooled, frost them with the different colors. Decorate them with Easter decorations.

Easter-Themed Cookies

Before you plan this, be sure you have a cookie sheet that fits in your RV’s oven. Make your favorite sugar cookie recipe. Instead of rolling out the dough on a small counter space, form different size balls for a bunny body and head. Form a rope-like piece for the ears. Roll the pieces in sugar, then place them on the cookie sheet. Flatten them slightly with the bottom of a glass. Dip the bottom of the glass in sugar if it starts to stick to the dough. Decorate the cookies with sugar cookie icing.
